The first reel that we would like to take a closer look at, is the Abu Garcia C3-6500.
This is an aluminum baitcasting reel that has a good overall gear ratio of 5.3:1. It has a retrieval rate of 26 inches per crank and it has a good size spool to put a good amount of line on. It has 3 plus 1 ball bearing making it super smooth.
Because of the bigger spool, you are going to have a larger weight. The C3 6500 weighs 10.7 ounces which isn’t bad for having a bigger spool.
As with most Abu Garcia baitcasters it has a bent star drag making it more comfortable to use and hold in your hand. Another great feature is the clicker. While some fishermen like the clicker, others do not. On the 6500 model you have the option to turn it on or to leave it off. On the small models such as the 5500 you don’t have the clicker option. So it really depends on your personal preference.
What I like about the C3. As you know if you are a regular reader at this blog is that I like Abu Garcia reels. This one is no exception. As long as you take care of them they will last you many fishing seasons. Yes, you can use this one in saltwater, you just need to be mindful to wash all the saltwater off before storing. Another benefit to this particular model is that it was made in Sweden. As we know all the Abu Garcia reels made in Sweden are top-notch.
Now that we have taking a look at some c3 models, let’s take a look at some c4 baitcasters, but first check out the following video:

Abu Garcia c3 vs c4 – What are you thoughts?
As you can see there are some differences between the two such as the gear ratio, the thumb bar, gear system and line system. So which one is better?
That is what makes this series great! I can not tell you which one will work better for you, it all depends on you and your style of fishing. I will tell you however, that you can not go wrong with choosing an Abu Garcia Baitcaster, they will last you a life time.
