BEST BASS LURES

best bass fishing lures

What are the best bass fishing lures? Talk about a difficult question to answer in a single blog post. With so many different types of bass lures and baits on the market, it is impossible to limit it down to one or even the top ten.

The reason that question is so difficult to answer is because there are a variety of different lure categories and under each category, there are several different kinds of baits.

Take, for example, crankbaits. Under the crankbait category, you have squarebill, single knocker, rattle, silent, lipless, deep diving and more are coming to the market each and every year. Then once you choose a subcategory there are a number of different brands that make the lure within the subcategory unique to its brand. And to think that is just the crankbait category.

We also need to take into consideration the seasons. There are lures that work best in the summer, and there are lures that work best in the fall. The same can be said about post spawn vs pre-spawn, and spring vs winter.

What do bass eat

What do bass eat? Why is that question so important?

Well in order to catch bass, we need to know what they are feeding on.

So the first thing I like to do when fishing a new lake is to ask myself: What are the bass feeding on? What baitfish do I see in the water? What activity do I see on the surface of the water?

Once, I understand what they are feeding on, I reach for the lure that best imitates that bait and start dialing in on what the bass want.

In this post, we are going to talk about some of the most popular meals for bass.
