The is the difficult question we are going to try to tackle in this week’s post. We are going to take a look at 20 items that we think are the best fishing gifts. Hopefully this post will give you some good ideas when shopping for the one you love. Let’s begin…
What are the best bass fishing lures? Talk about a difficult question to answer in a single blog post. With so many different types of bass lures and baits on the market, it is impossible to limit it down to one or even the top ten.
The reason that question is so difficult to answer is because there are a variety of different lure categories and under each category, there are several different kinds of baits.
Take, for example, crankbaits. Under the crankbait category, you have squarebill, single knocker, rattle, silent, lipless, deep diving and more are coming to the market each and every year. Then once you choose a subcategory there are a number of different brands that make the lure within the subcategory unique to its brand. And to think that is just the crankbait category.
We also need to take into consideration the seasons. There are lures that work best in the summer, and there are lures that work best in the fall. The same can be said about post spawn vs pre-spawn, and spring vs winter.
Fighting a largemouth bass can be exciting. After all, it is probably one of the main reasons you have gotten into this sport in the first place. However, what is even more exciting is seeing a huge bass come up and inhale your topwater frog.
Yes, there is no doubt about it fishing with topwater frogs can be tons of fun. With that being said, in order to be a successful topwater fisherman, you need to have the proper equipment.
For that reason, in this post, we are going to look at some good froggin’ rods that every bass angler should have when fishing topwater.
What do bass eat? Why is that question so important?
Well in order to catch bass, we need to know what they are feeding on.
So the first thing I like to do when fishing a new lake is to ask myself: What are the bass feeding on? What baitfish do I see in the water? What activity do I see on the surface of the water?
Once, I understand what they are feeding on, I reach for the lure that best imitates that bait and start dialing in on what the bass want.
In this post, we are going to talk about some of the most popular meals for bass.
How to set the hook…oh that’s easy. Wait for the first to take the bait. Give the rod a good yank and you have yourself a fish right?
Learning how to set the hook properly is probably one of most important things a beginner angler could learn.
After all, if you don’t learn this important step, that big fish will always be the one that got away.
To help you land more fish we have put together this post to talk about the proper way to set the hook when fishing with jigs, topwater frogs, and crankbaits.
We are also going to highlight 3 important tips to keep in mind when hooking that fish.
What are the best crankbaits for bass?
Wow! What a question! There are so many different crankbaits on the market today, how could we possibly narrow it down to just a few?
Take, for example, the square bill crankbait, could you narrow it down to your top 5 favorite squarebills? There are hundreds if not thousands of different lures that fall under this category. To pick just 5 or even 10 would be difficult (believe me I’ve tried).
Now, let’s think about the broader question: what are the best crankbaits for bass? That question is even more difficult to answer, but I like challenges, so in this post, I am going to try to answer that question.
To make it easier, I have broken it down into 3 categories. I have picked a few from each category that I would consider to be my favorite and possibly the best (by no means is this list exhaustive).
I hope you enjoy!
